Nathan Byrne is a Southeast Michigan based artist / educator / curator who is a lecturer at Stamps School of Art & Design, and Director of Sometimes Space in Ypsilanti, MI.  His work has been exhibited widely nationally and is a recipient of the VSC Fellowship at Vermont Studio Center. Byrne has  been awarded numerous artist residencies including Anderson Ranch Arts Center, I-Park, KHN Center for the Arts, Prairie Ronde, Recology, and Rockland Woods.

Through his projects he explores the pliability of the viewer’s encounters with objects and environments. The work is grounded in perception, transformative space, and human experience. Byrne received a BA from San Francisco State University in Studio Art and Art History, and an MFA from Stamps School of Art & Design.
